AMI Supports V-TWIN Industry Night Print E-mail

Australia’s newest wholesale V-Twin distribution company staff supported the media launch function held on the evening of March 10th at Caboolture for the release of Australia’s newest custom Harley. Father and son team Spear and Steve of Sling Shot Motorcycles, released their locally made chassis which features underslung twin suspension units and accepts most parts from a stock HD Sportster.

Custom forward controls are featured that are manufactured locally by Michael from Rhino’s Custom Machining Service and he held a trade display at the launch.  Another display featured a new hold down method for motorcycles.

Over 90 people attended including seven staff from AMI, by far the largest support from any member business of the Brisbane V-Twin Industry. Some other members of the V-Twin business and racing industry who did attend were Brett Stevens Pro Stock Motorcycle drag race team, Barry Wright Racing, Bolam Family Racing, A&P Racing, Xpose’ Racing, Choppazilla, Rhino’s Custom Machining Service, Convict Motorcycles and Tune-N-Choppers.

The evening featured a display of Sportsters showing the progression of the model and a beautifully engineered drag bike based on a Sportster. Two newspapers visited on Friday and shot features and recorded interviews. On Saturday evening representatives from OzBike, American Rides and Heavy Duty magazines were present. The evening was a great success with two confirmed orders placed and all who attended enjoying a very pleasant social evening. The management and staff of AMI would like to wish the guys from Sling Shot every success for the future with this Aussie built custom.
